Wordy Wonderment

My new home is quite lovely, a little bit of a typical "college house", however still pretty great. One thing that I noticed was missing was wall art. We have white walls in every room except the bedrooms. Over the summer I decided I was going to be crafty and make something to hang, it will go in the kitchen, hall, or living room. Most likely kitchen. I bought a wood frame and stretched some big floral print fabric over it. I bought another fabric which I will sew on to the base, with some saying. Here is the issue I don't know what saying to use. I need quote ideas!

some brainstorming:
home is where you are.
Live. Laugh. Love.
Eat. Pray. Love.
Home sweet home.

I don't know! Everything I think of sounds silly. So please help.
Short is key, but something I actually like is more important.

While searching the internet for ideas I came across some very interesting ideas for wall decor.

A tea cup clock..... So so so awesome!

Pinwheel wall decorations... easy and cute <3

please if you have a good idea toss it my way. I want to get this thing made, but can't decide on what to write!

Rural PA

Tomorrow I move into my house near school. This house is not equipped with internet...yet , which is very sad and means no searching the internet for crafty ideas, or excellent deals, or things to do.
Which means a bored Danielle.

Maybe I will be back sooner than I think, but as of now it will be a week and a half until I am "online" again. Don't worry I will think of some excellent blog ideas while I am gone! and have plenty of new house pictures to contribute! Goodbye world wide web, I will miss you.

The Magic Number

What if you were on a deserted island and you could only bring 3 things, what would you bring?

The better question is what if you were forced to limit your worldly possessions to 100 things, what would you keep?

A woman named Tammy Strobel became famous for participating in this minimalist challenge. She states that even though it isn't easy it really makes you decide what is important. You start to realize that maybe just maybe all the shopping and material things may not be the key to happiness after all.

Her List is pretty detailed and defined. Her and her husband got rid of their cars, of the television, and lots of other things our society knows as "essentials."

Thinking about my own possessions I feel shameful in comparison. I have loads of clothing, accessories, shoes, purses. And that is just clothing. Not to even get into books, journals, art, and so much more.
I started thinking about what if i got rid of lots of my books? I mean I guess I would have to go to a library more often. What if I got rid of lots of my clothes? Well I probably wouldn't miss a lot of it, I do that silly thing of keeping old clothes I wish I could fit into still. It really does make sense to trim down our material baggage, and would be super convenient for moving around, or trying to save some extra cash.

Now don't freak out- I'm not selling my car or going to give up all of my childhood keepsakes. But I am going to take this to heart. The whole try and not buy buy buy. recycle, refresh, reuse, limit yourself. Perhaps I will do another round of spring cleaning, and give some more stuff away. heck maybe I can even sell some stuff and put it towards my Europe trip fund.We shall see :)

bringing back the aprons

For some reason I have recently become obsessed with aprons. Not ugly stupid simple aprons, oh no. Aprons with ruffles, colors, and adorable graphics!
Enjoy these aprons all pictures from Anthropologie.

A word to the frugal apron lover... K-mart has some cute ones for like $9...
vs. the $32 ones on Anthropologie.

timwill not disappoint

I was looking up photos of Old Sheldon church, in SC and came across some bridal photos that had been done there. I decided after looking at a couple from the shoot I loved them, and I tripped on the blog of the photographer who did them. To my delight he does many wedding photos, and several other varieties. I spent hours looking through his pictures I love them. Every wedding seemed so different but every time he seemed to be able to capture the people's real emotions on the film. Some of the shots were simply breath taking, like shots from a fairytale, or even just a good romance movie :) enjoy and be sure to check out his(Tim Willoughby's) stuff!

Getting Started

Making a blog is both ridiculous and time consuming. Never the less here I am, making a blog. I apologize in is advance if it takes me awhile to get the hang of things. Basically I will use this to share the things I like. :) enjoy.
