Home Sweet Home

The moment of truth is here!! I am finally going to post some apartment pictures. I will go into some details about each room, and all the pictures are numbered for easy understanding of what's what. If you missed the earlier post on the apartment check it out, it has before pics of the kitchen, living room, and my bedroom!

Welcome to the Living Room!

No Hair Dryer Required

The past week or so I have been at my apartment with no internet (until 2 days ago) and with not too much to do, except fix up the apartment. I even ran mostly out of money meaning I couldn't drive anywhere because of gas cost... which left me stuck. It's not all bad however. The house really came together quickly and I have tons of time for crafts and other projects, which brings me to the point of hair. I haven't felt like blow drying my hair lately seems like a waist if I have nothing going on- but I haven't liked how it looks down either... it's too long and heavy to look nice scrunched and wet... so I have been experimenting. This is my favorite so far. It's similar to other things I have done with small braids in front of my hair, but this one used up the whole front half of my hair! :) I liked the results and it will be an excellent look for a not super challenging hair style that requires no blow drying or product and keeps your hair off your face!

How to: I started the braid at my right ear and divided out the front portion of my hair all the way across. While braiding pull in the direction you want it to go, i started pulling straight over like a headband then mid left side i pulled back to where my bun would be, but still used all the hair to my left ear in the braid. Then take the end of the braid and the leftover hair and style it in a messy bun.

Free Samples

Hello All! Sorry I haven't been posting at all this past week- Since last Saturday I have been moved into my new apartment near State College with my friend Derek. I have so many great things to write about, and projects we have done on the house- but there will be time for that later once I can access internet from home! For now I want to just show you a brief preview of what you'll be seeing...

So far we have explored a little bit, did tons of thrift shopping and bargain hunting! One of our favorite local places so far is called Cool Beans Coffee and Tea. We just adore them for having free wifi and tasty coffee! This is the street it's on- cute, right?
I can't wait until fall hits the trees around here will look so beautiful!

J + A

Earlier this summer I was blessed with the opportunity to be apart of one of my best friend's weddings! I was a bridesmaid for Alyssa & Josh's wedding, and I couldn't have had a nicer time! They decided to get hitched up in Canada on lake Mazinaw which has special significance to Alyssa's family. It was about a 10 hour drive for me to get up there but every single minute or travel was worth it! I can't explain how it feels to watch one of your childhood friends get married. I have known Lys since the sixth grade, and even since middle school she had told me how in love with Josh she was. (Who says no one marries their middle school crush?!). It was years until they finally got together- but now I am so happy they did! They are truly a wonderful couple and balance each other perfectly. All you want for a best friend is for her to be happy- mission accomplished :) I truly feel blessed to have been able to be witness to the ceremony and able to support them in this important occasion in their lives!

ALL CAPS!!!

Most of you probably don't know this but I don't really like it when people type in all caps. It makes me feel like I am either being yelled at or I am talking to a 13 year old girl who just got kissed by a super star (aka over-the-top-melodramatic-excitement). The other day I found out that my friend Derek and I got an apartment down in state college for student teaching- I was so excited that I found myself typing in all caps- (gasp)- I could hardly believe it myself, but it proved how excited I was to get this apartment and start planning and moving in! I AM SO EXCITED!

I am very excited as well to post pictures and updates on my blog as I accomplish some home projects. Since I haven't seen it in person all I have is Derek's description and a few photos he took when walking through. Since the pictures aren't great quality and aren't of the house when we are living in it I am only going to show you 3 to give you a taste of what we have to work with. Also I wanted to share some images and ideas I have for 3 of the spaces in the house; the kitchen, living area, and my bedroom! Enjoy!

Into the Woods We Go Again...

...We have to every now and then. For those of you who don't know, Into the Woods has a special meaning to me. My Freshman year of college I was given the role of Cinderella: It was not only amazing to be playing the role, but it was my first lead ever! I feel as though it was a huge turning point in my acting career and ever since the show has meant so much to me. Since then the show has come up a lot! 3 specific performances of it that are important to me are... Mansfield's production, for above reasons. My sister's first time being in the show as Little Red at FIT, with so many great people!, (I had the priveledge of seeing her again in Into the Woods as a stepsister semi-recently!-another great production). And finally the most recent production where Josh (my boyfriend) directed the show in his hometown. It was a brilliant production! I am beyond proud of all that he accomplished as musical and stage director. The costumes, sets, and music really came together and they gave a great performance!

Just for funzies I decided I wanted to share pictures from the 3 productions I just talked about... Most recent first. (I have to apologize for some of the pictures, it was incredibly hard to get a clear shot!)
