We are never ever ever getting back together (like ever)

I haven't really expressed my sheer love for Taylor Swift in awhile, it's true I love her. I love her music, her style, and everything she stands for. She's just adorable! I've been totally digging this song lately. And I am really in love with the music video: mostly for her stellar taste in clothing, and the neat set design. I also really enjoy that she released a lyric video. Nice move. Watch out though, this song is super catchy...

Into the Woods We Go Again...

...We have to every now and then. For those of you who don't know, Into the Woods has a special meaning to me. My Freshman year of college I was given the role of Cinderella: It was not only amazing to be playing the role, but it was my first lead ever! I feel as though it was a huge turning point in my acting career and ever since the show has meant so much to me. Since then the show has come up a lot! 3 specific performances of it that are important to me are... Mansfield's production, for above reasons. My sister's first time being in the show as Little Red at FIT, with so many great people!, (I had the priveledge of seeing her again in Into the Woods as a stepsister semi-recently!-another great production). And finally the most recent production where Josh (my boyfriend) directed the show in his hometown. It was a brilliant production! I am beyond proud of all that he accomplished as musical and stage director. The costumes, sets, and music really came together and they gave a great performance!

Broomstick Magic!

So tonight something amazing has occurred! We have discovered the ability to make a broom stand up straight on it's bristles. I was told that something to do with the planets or gravitational pull was the cause- but before you freak out about how rare and amazing this stunt is.... you should know that apparently at anytime brooms can be made to stand up balanced! Most brooms can work for this, and if you balance it just right it will stand straight up! (It's slightly less exciting when you know you can do this any day... however it's still really exciting and cool looking when you do it the first time!.. and not a bad party trick ;)

Haha, I might be a little gullible when it comes to stuff like this- but either way it's pretty freakin cool! 

We even got a second broom standing!!

We got pretty excited/amazed so we decided to balance it on other things too! So funny... haha it's late. 

You know you want to try this at home, so do! And why not tell a few people the planetary alignment joke, or save it for a Halloween trick! Have fun, and go grab those brooms!

Happy Leap Year!

 Happy Leap Day Everyone! In case you are sitting there wondering again why it is we have one extra day this year- (can't quite remember back to 7th grade science...) Here are some videos to help explain!



In case you couldn't sit through the first video- or happen to be under the age of 10- here is another explanation of leap year Veggietales style!


One of my favorite stories involving leap year is Pirates of Penzance! Watch the video or read the King's quote below! Ha ha ha ha ha.... he is a little boy of five!!!

Musical Inspiration

So today in masterclass I heard Daniela sing a lovely rendition of "Mein herr marquis" from J. Strauss's Fledermaus and it made me wish I had a lighter more flexible soprano voice. I started complaining to Sarah how none of my music is light and playful like that, it's all so dramatic! And Sarah complained the opposite, that she never sang dramatic sounding things. Later today when I was practicing my music I realized again how lovely it is. Here are some inspirational videos for "bigger soprano voices" :) Je Dis, Morgen!, and several of the hermit songs will be on my senior recital, and "Songs My Mother Taught Me" is just a wonderful piece I stumbled on today while watching videos. The Ride of the Valkyries is a glorious scene by Wagner, with an amazing set and the epitome of celebrating big soprano voices. Happy viewing!
